Samsung previews Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite won’t be here for a while. Samsung says, “Availability in the second half of 2021 with pricing and on-sale dates closer to local launches.”

Of course, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ (review here 9.6/10) have been around since August 2020 – the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite are new iterations of both.

FE stands for ‘Fan Edition’, and Samsung hopes to repeat the runaway success of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE smartphone. Here it mixed just the right ingredients for the price. Differences to the Tab S7/S7+ are minor.

The Galaxy Tab A7 series is popular, offering a range of features at more affordable prices – just like its a-series smartphones. The Lite has a slightly larger screen and 3 or 4GB options – go for the latter as it allows Android to run in 64-bit mode.

Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite offer Australians an exceptional Android experience at a more accessible price. The S7 FE has a larger 12.4-inch display, dual Dolby Atmos speakers, fast charging, 5G option and S Pen in a mid-tier tablet.

Garry McGregor, Vice President, Mobile Division, Samsung Electronics Australia

LG Styler S5MB – larger capacity

The LG Styler S5MB is a large capacity version of its highly acclaimed Styler circa late in 2019. At 600mm wide, it can handle five garments using steam and moving hangers to shake clothes gently, helping reduce wrinkles, dispel unpleasant odours and refresh a variety of fabrics.

The LG Styler S5MB is perfect for items that cannot be easily washed or dried in traditional high-temperature dryers. It used steam to refresh various fabrics and garments, including woollens, knits, jackets, trousers or sportswear. Via LG Heat Pump tech uses low heat drying to gradually reduce moisture in fabric, decreasing the possibility of shrinkage and creasing.

LG Australia is delivering another innovative clothing care solutions with real long-term benefits. Our latest Styler prolongs the life of garments whilst reducing the need for frequent dry cleaning.

Brad Reed, Senior Marketing Manager for Home Appliances at LG Australia.

The LG Styler S5MB includes several garments cycles.

In 20 minutes, users can give items a light refresh. Allergy sufferers can run the ‘Sanitary’ cycle in <90 minutes. This reduces allergens such as house dust mites and bacteria from clothing and fabrics. The LG ThinQ app can also control it.

It is exclusive to Harvey Norman from July 2021. Price TBA, but the previous model S3BF (overview here) was $3299. If you are keen, the link above gives a fuller summary of its functions and features.

This week (May 31st to June 4th), LG Electronics Australia will debut the new LG Styler Australian Fashion Week (AFW), where the company is the Official Laundry Appliance Partner. Located within The Hub at Carriageworks, LG will offer AFW guests the opportunity to experience the benefits of the LG Styler by checking coats, jackets, and other garments for a refreshed at the ‘LG Refresh Zone’.

We felt there was great synergy partnering with Australian Fashion Week this year. We’re excited to showcase the benefits of the Styler to fashion-forward consumers and highlight how it can be a benefit for long-term garment care.

LG Local Legends 2021 reward Aussie’s doing everyday good

The LG Local Legends program 2021 follows from the 2020 program – a year of bushfires, flood, and pandemic.

LG is looking for people who go the extra mile to help out. Not just the front-line worker but ordinary everyday people who do extraordinary things for others – without thought of reward.

LG invites Australians to nominate individuals and groups who make a difference in their local communities. Be it through their time, actions, talents and/or dedication to others. The qualifying period is 31 May to 24 November 2021. Monthly winners will receive an LG Life’s Good Home prize package worth $20,000.

To enter, participants can visit here and share an image. Just find 50 words or less how the nominee goes that extra mile within their local community.

All nominees will be recognised and celebrated on a dedicated LG Local Legends Hero Wall. LG will also reward nominators and encourage people to vote and share nominated local legends on their Facebook page.  They may win one of four monthly LG Local Legends Audio prize packages.

LG Local Legends 2021 ambassadors

Four of twenty-four 2020 LG Local Legend winners have become 2021 ambassadors. Their stories are all unique. They truly show the diversity of how everyday Aussies are giving back to our communities across Australia. Find out more about their stories by visiting the video links below:

Jamie Wolf, Fencing for Fires

Jamie witnessed first-hand the impact of bushfires in 2015 after his family farm in Barnawartha, Victoria, was burnt out.  In response, Jamie and his father launched a volunteer-based fencing repair business.  The father and son duo volunteer in their spare time to rebuild farmland fencing for those impacted by bushfires. Fast forward to the devastating 2019/2020 bushfire season, Jamie and his father returned to help rebuild farmlands in their communities of Wodonga, Upper Murray and parts of Southern NSW.

Adele Jago, Sydney Search Dogs

Adele at Search Dogs Sydney dedicates thousands of hours every year to locate missing persons, such as those lost in the bush or as a result of natural and man-made disasters.  Through this passion for protecting and rescuing others, she founded the not-for-profit organisation Search Dog Sydney in 2015. The organisation represents a dedicated team of qualified volunteers who train canines to aid the NSW police department in searching for lost or missing persons.

Merissa Forsyth, Pretty Foundation

Merissa dedicates her time to empower young girls to be confident, happy and comfortable in their skin.  After putting a successful career in marketing on hold, Merissa decided to pursue a new path and established a movement that started a meaningful, much-needed conversation about body image and self-esteem for women and girls in Australia.

Peter & Melissa McGuiness, You Chose Youth Road Safety

In 2012, their 18-year-old son, Jordon, was speeding under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he drove his car into a stationary vehicle.  His choices killed four young victims in the other car as well as himself.  This heartbreaking incident inspired the couple to help make a difference in altering the behaviours and choices of young drivers to prevent further road trauma – ultimately, saving lives. Since the tragedy, Peter and Melissa organise and run impactful presentations for school groups nationally. They teach teenagers the importance of personal accountability and collective peer advocacy to protect their families, communities, and themselves from on-road incidents.
