The Game Awards 2022: all the winners

One of the most prestigious events on the video game industry’s calendar is here: The Game Awards. Voted on by over 100 global media outlets and influencers, the ceremony recognises the best games of the year across many different categories, including the highly coveted Game of the Year.

The Game Awards streams live on YouTube and Twitch, showcasing not only the best games of 2022 but also plenty of announcements and reveals for what to look forward to in 2023 and beyond.

We covered the nominees across the major categories when they were revealed last month. Juggernauts God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring racked up 10 and seven nominations respectively, with both games up for Game of the Year. Melbourne-made title Cult of the Lamb is up for Best Indie against some strong competition, with fellow indie Stray also nominated for Game of the Year.

As The Game Awards 2022 is streaming at the time of writing, we’ll update this article with the winners following their announcement.
