4.8Overall Score
Name: Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W power bank
Price (RRP): $approx 274
Manufacturer: Zendure

The Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W power bank is the mother of power banks – in fact, it is better to call it a mobile power station. And it matches a classy Rimowa aluminium travel case.

There are so many features to the Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W power bank that we need to list a few to start the review.

Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W power bank

  • 26800mAh power bank in about 30% of the size of similar capacity power banks
  • 4 USB-C ports
  • Passthrough charging (charge the Zendure and charge three devices from it at the same time)
  • Upgradeable firmware gives it some degree of future proof as PD standards evolve
  • OLED screen shows each port and current draw
  • Maximum 138W output over four ports
  • PD 3.0, QC 3.0 and PPS support
  • 124 x 74.5 x 45.5mm x 580g

Ports

  • #1 USB-C in or out 5V/3A/15W, 9VB/3A/27W, 12V/3A/36W, 15V/3A/45W and 20V/3A (60W) or 20V/5A/100W
  • #2 USB as above plus PPS Quick Charge 5-11V/5A
  • #3 USB-C out only 5V/3A/15W, 9V/2A/18W, 12V/1.5/18W
  • #4 UCB-C as above

Being USB-C PD, it can charge lower 2-5W amperage devices like Apple Watch, most buds and older micro-USB devices.

And its fully protected!

Charging the SuperTank Pro

Zendure have a SuperPort S4 100W 4-port GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger that can charge the SuperTank in 1.75 hours. It comes with four power plugs – /US/AU/EU/UK.

Yes, you can use any other lower wattage USB-C PD charger, but it is going to take a long time to charge.

GaN means that it is ultra-compact at 77.6 x 60 x 29mm x 225g – 30% smaller than an Apple 96W charger.

It has four output ports too.

  • #1 USB-C provides 5V/3A/15W, 9VB/3A/27W, 12V/3A/36W, 15V/3A/45W and 20V/3A (60W) or 20V/5A/100W
  • #2 as above but shares the 100W
  • #3 USB-C 5V/3A/15W, 9V/2A/18W, 12V/1.5/18W
  • #4 USB-A 4.5/5/22.5W, 5V/4.5A/22.5W, 9V/2A/18W and 12V/1.5A/18W (QC 3.0, SCP and FCP)

The maximum shared output is 108W.

SuperPort S4 supports fast-charge protocols including PD 3.0, QC 3.0, PPS 5A (for Samsung  S/Note20 fast charge), AFC (Samsung Galaxy 9 series fast charge) and SCP/FCP 22.5W (for HUAWEI P40 and Mate 30 fast charge).

Tests – EXCEED

It is extremely easy to test because the OLED panel has input/output readouts for all ports and shows remaining charge. We double-checked with a Power-Z monitor as well.

Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W
  • Samsung S20 Ultra 5G – it started at 45W for most of the charge dropping to 15W for the last 20%.
  • HP 2019 Spectre x360 i7 65W – it delivered 64.2W
  • Microsoft Surface Go – 15.3W
  • Samsung Galaxy Buds+ – 5W
  • UE Boom – 2W
  • It was able to charge all devices at the same time.

GadgetGuy’s take – Zendure SuperTank Pro 100W power bank is the ‘current’ king (bad pun)

If you wanted to make a better 100W 26800mAh powerbank and charger today, you would be hard-pressed to beat the Zendure. Add to that its 2-year ACL warranty and you know you are buying quality.

It’s a shame we can’t travel, or this would be standard kit for every long haul flyer. BTW it is permissible as cabin-baggage under FAA rules.

The OLED screen is terrific, firmware upgradeable is a great idea, but best of all it works like a treat. Only one minor caveat. If you do use 100W, make sure the cables are rated for it. The Superport Charger comes with one but 99% of your USB-C-USB-C cables lying around are going to max out at 25W! It also comes with a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter if you want to convert one port.

So, lets put this in perspective. Enough juice to recharge a big smartphone for a week’s use. Two full IPad Pro charges. Run your 96W MacBook for a day.
