Motorola Razr 2022 unboxing and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 comparison

Motorola Razr 2022, the latest flagship foldable phone, is here in Australia. In our review of the new device, we enjoyed its iterative approach to the increasingly popular foldable form. To show you how it looks in action, GadgetGuy’s Valens Quinn filmed an unboxing video, demonstrating how the Motorola Razr 2022 looks and feels out of its packaging.

Alongside the unboxing, there’s a brief comparison between the new Razr and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 from earlier in the year. Although slight, it’s interesting to see the subtle differences between the two flip phones. The Motorola Razr 2022 is marginally wider and thicker than the Flip4, while the Samsung device sports a taller display.

It’s great to see Motorola include a 30W fast charger in the box with the Razr so you don’t need to shell out extra for the necessary accessory. Although it doesn’t feel quite as premium as the Flip4, it’s still a nice phone to hold in hand, and it folds compactly to fit into your pocket.

Motorola’s most recent foldable foray impresses on more counts than one. Our review claims the phone is a strong contender in the emerging foldable market, worth considering if you want to dip your toe into the non-traditional form factor. As Val puts it:

“The Main and Quick Display screens are excellent, and the Flex View hinge really does add a new dimension in terms of how you use your phone for taking photos, watching videos and using apps. And with a price of $1,599, it’s great to see that Moto wants to put this phone into people’s pockets at a reasonable price given all the technology and features it delivers.”

Foldable phones are here for the foreseeable future, with the Motorola Razr 2022 being the latest in the current trend. We’re looking forward to seeing how the technology progresses into the future.
