These 6 home appliances are great for Christmas and beyond

These 6 home appliances are great for Christmas and beyond

One of the best gifts you can give someone is time. If you don’t know what to buy for Christmas, loads of home appliances help save time on cooking, cleaning, and other tasks around the house. Pick any of the following household gadgets, and you’ll be on the right track.

Now, before you rush off to grab one of these appliances, I recommend checking with the potential recipient ahead of time. You don’t want to accidentally cast aspersions on a significant other’s housekeeping skills by giving them an unsolicited kitchen gadget or a vacuum cleaner!

For some other fun ideas, check out our overall gadget gift guide, tech gifts for parents and kids, some of the best toys, and gifts that support Australian businesses.

If home appliances are a safe bet, these gadgets are sure to go down a treat and save everyone time in the long run.

Ninja Air Fryer Pro

I’m a late convert to the church of air fryers, and I’m now a devoted disciple. This particular single-drawer model from Ninja is fabulous; it doesn’t take up much bench space, its internals are dishwasher safe, and it cooks some delightfully crispy meals.

Unlike too many kitchen appliances these days, this specific air fryer actually has physical buttons. Physical buttons in 2025! You love to see it. Touch or capacitive controls are too fiddly and annoying, especially when you’ve got greasy hands from food prep.

This thing gets used more than our actual oven at home. Probably because it crisps up schnitzels and chips far better. And quicker, too.

Roborock F25 RT

Anything that promises to make cleaning easier gets my attention. The Roborock F25 RT is one of the more affordable wet-dry vacuums in Australia; it was as cheap as $299 at Aldi for a while.

Although the F25 RT might not be a deep-cleaning specialist, it’s great for regular hardfloor cleaning. It sucks up muck off the floor, and freshens up surfaces with its rolling mop. I’ll admit to being slack with mopping, so this makes staying on top of housecleaning a bit easier.

Roborock Saros 10

  • Price: $2,999 RRP via multiple retailers

For a more automatic touch, this is one of our favourite robot cleaners. When Alice Clarke reviewed the Roborock Saros 10, she particularly enjoyed how well it vacuumed and avoided hair tangles. When cleaning carpeted floors, the robot removes its mop pads, ensuring it doesn’t cross-contaminate any moisture or gunk it picks up while cleaning.

If the $2,999 price tag scares you off, don’t fret. At the time of writing, the Saros 10 is down to $1,788 at JB Hi-Fi, which is much gentler on the bank balance.

Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam

Bit of a mouthful, the name of Tineco’s high-end steam cleaner. Combining wet-dry vacuuming technology with the power of steam, the Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam is the best cleaner of its kind that reviewer Alice Clarke had used at the time. Alice tests a lot of cleaning appliances, so that’s high praise.

Aside from its obvious high-powered cleaning, the S9 Artist Steam is also easy to clean. There’s nothing worse than using a wet-dry vacuum and gagging at how disgusting cleaning its dirty water tank is. No such concerns here. It’s easy to empty this appliance’s waste without getting your hands involved.

Thank goodness for that.

Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max Robotic Pool Cleaner

Having a pool is the ultimate luxury in the Australian summer, but it comes with its fair share of upkeep. To make things easier, there are a lot of robotic pool cleaners on the market now; cordless models are the next frontier.

The Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max cleans the surface, walls, and underwater sections of pools, all without the need for cables. What would normally take hours of your time just takes a few minutes of setup instead.

Like watching a robot vacuum go about its business, there’s a fun novelty factor when letting an automatic pool cleaner do the heavy lifting. Sure beats doing everything yourself!

Cricut Maker 4

Is this a home appliance? It can help with household tasks, so that’s good enough for me.

Reviewer Alice Clarke loved the Cricut Maker 4, an improved and more efficient cutting and crafting machine than the Maker 3. Great for making personalised clothes, cards, stickers, and any other small textiles you can think of, it’s a neat gift for the artistic person in your life.
