Aldi will stock a popular budget robot vacuum just after Christmas, with the Ecovacs Deebot Neo 2.0 Plus set for its lowest price yet.
Starting on 27 December, the robot vacuum and auto-empty station combo will cost $379 when it arrives in the Aldi Special Buys aisle. For reference, that’s $120 cheaper than what it sold for last time, and only $30 more than what the vacuum by itself cost earlier in the year. Ecovacs sells the device via its website for $999, so Aldi’s sale is a pretty big saving.
When I reviewed the Deebot Neo 2.0 Plus at launch, it was one of the best budget robot appliances I’d used. An efficient cleaner, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better automatic cleaner for the price. Here’s what I said at the time:
“It’s suited to homes that need help keeping up with regular vacuuming. If you’re too busy or physically struggle with cleaning, this is a great little helper at an equally great price.”
This particular Deebot isn’t the strongest mopper going around; you’d need to spend a fair bit more if that’s what you’re looking for. But more than making up for it is the included auto-empty station. Only a few years ago, a docking station that removes the robot’s dustbin contents would’ve attracted a far higher price. That it comes with a sub-$400 robot is a big tick in the Deebot’s favour.
If you’ve seen any of the Aldi deals communities on social media, you’ll know that the Deebot is a hot-ticket item. It wouldn’t surprise me if it sold out quickly, especially with the sale happening in the week after Christmas.
Expect to see plenty of eager shoppers flocking to Aldi when the Deebot Neo 2.0 Plus goes on sale on 27 December.
