2023 Samsung Neo QLED TVs launch this week: all the details

For those looking for a home entertainment upgrade, the 2023 Samsung Neo QLED TVs arrive at retailers starting this week, including various 4K and 8K options in addition to the latest soundbars.

This comes following CES 2023 earlier this year, where Samsung revealed its extensive range of upcoming TVs. Predictably, the Micro LED model isn’t something you can simply buy off the shelf due to its status as an emerging technology. However, the brand’s Mini LED range, known as QLED, is arriving in force, and we have all the prices you can expect to see at retailers.

Although 8K isn’t a widely supported format, one of the big selling points of the new Samsung Neo QLED 8K model (QN900C) is its Neural Quantum processor that upscales content using AI. Gamers also benefit from 144Hz motion at 4K, along with the Real Game Enhancer tech that reduces latency and motion blur. Available in three sizes, here’s the recommended retail price for the 8K model:

  • 85-inch: $12,699
  • 75-inch: $9,879
  • 65-inch: $7,549

Like the 8K TVs, the 4K Neo QLEDs also upscale content, while the Mini LED technology offers precise lighting control to produce strong contrast and colour accuracy. Out soon, there are two new Neo QLED models this year: the QN90C and QN85C. They come with the following RRP:

QN90C

  • 85-inch: $7,899

  • 65-inch: $4,649

Alongside the Neo range, Samsung also has a base QLED model arriving this week in the form of the Q60C. It’s more affordable than the Neo TVs but does away with some of the premium features such as Neo Quantum HDR+ and AI upscaling. Here’s what to expect price-wise at retailers:

  • 85-inch: $4,619
  • 75-inch: $2,889
  • 65-inch: $2,189
  • 55-inch: $1,729

It’s also worth mentioning that the SmartThings smart home Zigbee and Matter Thread connectivity is built into the 2023 Samsung QLED TVs, so you no longer need a separate dongle to control connected devices. Plus, you can also stream Xbox games to the TVs via Xbox Game Pass without needing a console.

For audio, Samsung’s new soundbars aim to elevate the home cinema experience by taking advantage of the Neural Processing Unit in the TVs to analyse and process audio. At the high end of the scale, the 11.1.4 channel Q990C soundbar supports wireless Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to get more oomph out of your TVs. Here’s what you can expect to pay at retailers for the Q-Series soundbars:

  • Q990C: $2,099
  • Q930C: $1,599
  • Q800C: $1,099
  • Q700C: $899
  • Q600C: $799

It’s always an exciting time when new home entertainment technology arrives in Australia. Many of the devices mentioned are currently listed on Samsung’s website if you want to take a look. We’re looking forward to testing out Samsung’s latest range and letting you know what’s worth getting.
