Transparent tech is back, baby. More tech brands are revisiting the fun 2000s era of translucent plastic, giving a glimpse into the hardware underneath. PlayStation is the latest proponent of the retro-themed trend, announcing the eye-catching Prism Collection.
Consisting of three new DualSense controller designs and matching console covers, the collection adds a bit of transparent flair to the PlayStation 5 ecosystem. Combining two of my favourite things — bright colours and see-through technology — I feel like PlayStation made the Prism Collection to appeal specifically to me.
Available in Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray, the controllers cost $134.95 a pop, while the accompanying console covers cost $119.95. They won’t arrive for a while, though. Pre-orders open on 10 November, ahead of the collection’s 4 February launch. Until then, we have some very pretty pictures to look at. I call dibs on the Flare Orange controller.
