The LG gram 2021 laptop ranges comprise five new 14-17″ models, all with Intel Project Evo certification. The 16:10 display add more screen real estate yet fit into ultra-light and ultra-portable chassis. All have Mil-STD 810G Compliance.
We could write a separate article on Intel’s Project Evo but suffice to say it supersedes Project Athena laptops raising the performance bar even higher. All have an ‘Evo’ Core with Iris Xe graphics (3x faster than Intel UHD), Wi-Fi 6 AX160, 9+ hours battery, < 1-second wake, Thunderbolt 4 – yes 4 and 40Gbps data transfer.
Briefly, Thunderbolt 4 (40Gbps) is a superset of Thunderbolt 3 that supports at least 2x4K or 1x8K external displays USB-C 4 (2×2), USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (2×1) and 100W upstream charging.
Jang Ik-hwan, senior vice president and head of the LG Electronics Business Solutions IT business unit said.
“The LG gram brand is synonymous with outstanding portability and first-class performance. It raises the bar with sleeker, more refined designs and 16:10 aspect ratio displays while maintaining lightweight. Our latest LG gram line up gives consumers the ability to enjoy better productivity and more immersive viewing experiences wherever they go.”

GadgetGuy’s take – it is nice to see LG notebooks back in Australia
The LG gram 2021 laptop range looks impressive. While Project Evo certification is important, these share the impressive LG notebook heritage for quality, design and Mil-STD 810G construction.
But more importantly, the 90% or more screen-to-body ratio means that the enormous 17” screen fits into a 15” body.
