Portable computer announcements continue to feature throughout CES 2023, with the 2023 LG Gram laptops range featuring new Ultraslim and Style models alongside upgrades to the existing range.
As suggested by the Gram moniker, portability and a lightweight design is a major focus of LG’s versatile laptops. Included in the 2023 lineup are conventional clamshell laptops in addition to 2-in-1 hybrid tablet devices.
LG Gram Ultraslim and Gram Style are aptly named
Considered the flagship of the 2023 LG Gram laptops, the Gram Ultraslim is the thinnest model to date. It weighs a svelte 998 grams and is roughly as thick as a smartphone when closed, with a depth of 10.99mm. Constructed into its small form factor is a 15.6-inch OLED Full HD display coated with Anti-glare Low Reflection (AGLR) technology. Internally, it runs on an Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake Chip with Performance Cores (P-Cores). One drawback is that the Ultraslim’s display only has a 60Hz refresh rate.
An alternative to the Ultraslim is the Gram Style, made for people who like to express themselves through technology. Offered in 16 and 14-inch models, the Style features a glass design intended to make its colour pop as light shines on the device. LG described the Style as housing a “hidden” haptic touchpad with a soft LED backlight that responds to touch.
Each Gram Style laptop sports a 16:10 OLED AGLR display with a resolution of up to 3,200 x 2,000, 400-nit peak brightness, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Its internals includes an Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake P-Core CPU in addition to Gen4 NVMe SSD. Both the Ultraslim and Style models support up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
2023 LG Gram laptops include upgraded 2-in-1 and RTX models
Alongside the new entries included within the 2023 LG Gram laptops range are improvements to pre-existing models. The updated 2-in-1 hybrid laptops come in 16 and 14-inch variants, and are optimised for use with the LG Stylus Pen and +View portable monitor – which now houses dual USB-C ports for more connectivity options.
Meanwhile, the core LG Gram laptops will have upgrades across its 17, 16, 15 and 14-inch models. Depending on the model, you can have an IPS display at a resolution of up to 2,560 x 1,600 with a variable refresh rate of 144Hz. These are powered by the same Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake P-Core processors, in addition to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 4GB laptop GPU.
