Arlo Secure plans now cheaper in Australia

While the hustle and bustle of CES 2023 continues on, Arlo dropped some welcome news for local security camera owners. To help make premium home security features more affordable to Australians, the company has revamped its Arlo Secure plans with annual options and a cheaper monthly price.

Known for smart home security devices such as cameras, intruder detection sensors, and video doorbells, Arlo’s subscription service unlocks premium features like unlimited video cloud storage and interactive alerts. Previously only available as a monthly service across multiple tiers, the Arlo Secure Plans will soon offer an annual price billed monthly at a reduced rate.

What are the Arlo Secure Plans revised prices?

Beginning 3 February 2023, the reduced-cost monthly Unlimited plans will save you up to $48 a year, while an annual commitment offers as much as $84 in savings. However, the monthly commitment for the single-camera service will slightly increase from $4.49 to $4.99.

Arlo Secure Plan Current Price (monthly) New Price (monthly) New Annual Price (billed monthly) New Monthly Price (on annual plan)
Arlo Secure Single Camera $4.49 $4.99 $47.88 $3.99
Arlo Secure Unlimited Cameras $14.99 $12.99 $119.88 $9.99
Arlo Secure Plus Unlimited Cameras $21.99 $17.99 $179.88 $14.99

Arlo has a strong reputation in the home security market, with both the Arlo Pro 4 and Ultra 2 cameras performing strongly in reviews. The news of the local subscription price reduction comes as the brand communicated that it’s ending cloud support for older hardware. It’s not unusual for companies to cease support for devices it no longer makes, but it’s good to be aware of when it happens so you can think about your future options.

Smart security cameras can offer peace of mind and keep a record should something happen to your home. Arlo is considered one of the most reputable brands in this space, although some of its big-ticket features, like automatically contacting emergency services, haven’t made it to Australia yet. It’s not such a big deal, however, when you consider the hot mess competing brand Eufy is currently in over security and privacy concerns.
