LG brings a smooth new 360Hz UltraGear monitor for pro gaming

LG has shown off its latest UltraGear gaming monitor, which sports an extremely high refresh rate of 360Hz, intended for pro esports competition and high-end enthusiasts.

Announced as part of a partnership with League of Legends, a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game played across the globe, the display will be used by competitors throughout the upcoming League of Legends EMEA Championship 2023.

Standing at 24.5 inches, the new UltraGear monitor (model 25GR75FG) uses a Full HD IPS panel that also has a 1ms Gray-to-Gray response time. It’s also VESA Display HDR 400 certified and uses Nvidia G-Sync technology including Nvidia Reflex to help reduce screen tearing and latency for fast-paced action.

As shown by the display’s 1080p resolution, it’s a monitor made for performance, not for cranking all the visual settings to ultra. At the professional level, it’s common for esports competitors to dial down the game’s visual quality to increase frames per second (fps).

Competitive games like League, Dota, and Call of Duty favour high refresh rates because of the fast-paced action and reflexes required to succeed. The more times an image refreshes each second, the smoother it looks to the human eye, giving you a fraction more time to respond during crucial situations.

We’re waiting to hear more about the latest UltraGear monitor’s local release date and pricing. Considering the competition it’s featuring in starts this weekend, a wider release can’t be too far away.
