QAnon crowd gathers in Dallas for return of one or both JFKs

Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday near Dallas’ Dealey Plaza in the belief that John F. Kennedy Jr. would appear and announce the reinstatement of Donald Trump as president.

Some of them hoped that former President Kennedy would show up as well. Both Kennedys are dead, and the elder would be 104 years old.

The gathering tied into a theory by some QAnon supporters that the younger Kennedy will return as Trump’s vice president.

The crowd began forming Monday night, and by Tuesday afternoon it had grown to several hundred people despite heavy rain, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Some vowed to return at — or stay until — midnight, apparently the deadline for the appearance, at the place where the elder Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Others said they expected a revelation Tuesday night at the Rolling Stones concert in Dallas, the Morning News said.

One costumed QAnon adherent told the publication: “If it doesn’t go down how I believe it will, that’s OK. We’ll figure it just wasn’t the right time.”

The younger Kennedy, who died at age 38 in a 1999 plane crash, is a popular figure in the QAnon canon. Some followers of the far-right movement believe he is “Q,” the anonymous online poster who launched the wide-ranging conspiracy theory.
