Miami Dolphins safety Brandon Jones is out for the team’s Sunday home game against the Carolina Panthers.
Jones entered Sunday questionable after being limited in practice all week with ankle and elbow injuries.
Miami will likely start Eric Rowe in Jones’ place alongside rookie safety Jevon Holland.
The Dolphins also placed defensive back Elijah Campbell on injured reserve on Saturday after he was already deemed out for the game against the Panthers on Friday. In corresponding moves Saturday, Miami elevated Sheldrick Redwine from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Sunday, along with cornerback Javaris Davis.
With veteran safety Will Parks, who was just signed off the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad this past week, also one of the pregame inactives announced ahead of kickoff, Redwine will likely be the third safety that can rotate in. The Dolphins also have Clayton Fejedelem, who largely contributes on special teams, available.
Tight end Adam Shaheen and cornerback Trill Williams, who were already deemed out Friday, were also inactive, along with linebacker Darius Hodge and defensive tackle John Jenkins.
Former Pro Bowl running back Phillip Lindsay, claimed off waivers from the Houston Texans this past week, is available to play Sunday despite coach Brian Flores making it sound unlikely on Friday he would contribute this early in his Dolphins tenure. Lindsay had a Thursday walkthrough and Friday practice since joining Miami.
Cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, a 2020 first-round pick that has been a healthy inactive for six games, is available Sunday with various injuries in the Dolphins’ secondary.
