A fourth victim from yesterday’s mass shooting at Oxford High School has died.
Justin Shilling, 17, died at approximately 10 a.m. Wednesday at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
The others killed by the suspected shooter — a 15-year-old Oxford High sophomore — are Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Tate Myre, 16, and Hana St. Juliana, 14.
In total, 10 students and a teacher were hit by gunfire during the shooting incident which lasted about five minutes, unfolding shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect surrendered to deputies at the scene and reportedly was armed with a loaded 9 mm Sig Sauer handgun.
Investigators said the suspect’s father purchased the gun a few days ago.
The injured students remain hospitalized in conditions ranging from stable to critical. The injured teacher was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office said a preliminary meeting with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office was held Wednesday morning. More information is expected to be shared this afternoon.
The suspect is in custody at Oakland County Children’s Village. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said he’s on suicide watch.
