Reolink’s 4K TrackFlex camera gives you two views in one

Reolink’s 4K TrackFlex camera gives you two views in one

After debuting at IFA last year, the Reolink TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi security camera is now available in Australia. It combines 360-degree panning with 4K footage and a 3,000-lumen floodlight, designed to cover wide areas at all times of the day.

On the camera are two lenses: one is a 4K wide-angle lens, which is supported by a telephoto lens capable of zooming in up to six times. Within the Reolink app is a dual view that lets you see both perspectives at the same time.

Notably, the TrackFlex includes a passive infrared sensor to detect motion outside of the camera’s immediate view. According to Reolink, the sensor detects motion at a 270-degree radius from up to 10 metres away to help proactively capture footage before someone enters the frame.

There’s a fair bit of flexibility in the camera’s LED floodlights, too. They’re dimmable and support customisable colour temperature to help record clear footage in dim conditions. Also built in is a 110-decibel siren to scare off intruders.

Like the rest of the Reolink range, the TrackFlex doesn’t require a subscription to access features like people and package detection, or text-based footage search. It relies on ‘ReoNeura’, the brand’s AI technology that operates on-device without needing cloud access.

On a similar note, the camera supports microSD card storage of up to 512GB, which some smart home cameras don’t support. You can also connect it up to a home server or an NVR (network video recorder) to securely store footage from the camera for future reference.

One thing worth noting is that Reolink’s $399.99 camera isn’t battery-powered. Instead, it requires a hardwired connection. The TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi is available to order now at a $50 discount via Reolink’s website and Amazon.
