GadgetGuy has reached 150,000 subscribers on YouTube, firmly entrenching itself as one of the go-to destinations for consumer tech coverage in Australia.
Born out of the GadgetGuy website, the YouTube channel reflects the constantly changing media landscape that demands video content. As reported by Deloitte, YouTube is one of the most-watched platforms in Australia.
GadgetGuy itself was born out of the magazine industry, where we covered film camera and video camera technology. Over the years, GadgetGuy became one of the largest independent consumer tech publishers in Australia.
An interesting fact is that approximately 70% of GadgetGuy’s readers are 30 years or older, which also means that 30% of GadgetGuy’s readers were not born before the site started 30 years ago. The internet was in its infancy, and Windows 95 had just been launched. We used browsers such as AltaVista and Netscape. Indeed, many of the technologies we take for granted today had not even been thought of.
Eighteen months ago, GadgetGuy ramped up its YouTube content as part of the publisher’s next evolutionary step on its tech journey. Helmed by our very own Valens Quinn, as seen on Channel Seven and Sunrise, the YouTube channel has taken off to greater heights.
Videos of big-screen TVs, Apple’s latest innovations, and robot vacuums have all proven popular with online audiences, in addition to our phone photography tips, supercar secrets, and first looks at the latest smart home technologies.
As a result, we’ve cracked the 150,000 subscriber mark, which is a milestone the team is extremely proud of. As all YouTubers say, we would love for you to like and subscribe to the GadgetGuy YouTube channel, which will help us reach more tech enthusiasts like yourselves.
Thanks for your support, and see you in the next video!
