Apple’s cheapest iPhone hasn’t been out all that long, and there’s already a hefty discount available. As part of Optus’ latest deals, you can grab an iPhone 16e for $200 off, a discount of roughly 20%.
The only catch is that the deal doesn’t apply to outright purchases. Optus offers the deal when you buy the 128GB or 256GB iPhone 16e on either a 24-month or 36-month device payment plan alongside an eligible postpaid SIM plan.
When comparing some of the cheapest SIM plans, the Optus iPhone 16e deal works out to be a little pricier than Vodafone’s current offer on a monthly basis over 36 months. That’s mainly because Vodafone’s cheapest postpaid plan starts at $39 per month as part of the telco’s network expansion promotion. Meanwhile, Optus’ postpaid plans start at $55 per month.
It’s still not a bad deal, especially if you’re already an Optus postpaid customer or intend to switch over. This isn’t the only deal, either, with Optus discounting a range of Samsung and Google devices.
Some of the highlights include:
- $750 off Google Pixel 9 Pro device payments
- $618 of Google Pixel 8a device payments
- $150 off Samsung Galaxy A56 device payments
- $100 off Samsung Galaxy A36 device payments
A full list of the telco’s deals is available online, including a decent range of devices. We liked the iPhone 16e, calling it the “phone for people who want an iPhone, with a long warranty and many years of software updates, but don’t want or need all the bells and whistles.”
