Chick-fil-A opens restaurants in Daly City, Pittsburg

Chick-fil-A has added to its growing Bay Area footprint with two more restaurants — one on the upper Peninsula and one in the East Bay — with both emphasizing drive-thru service as a COVID-19 precaution.

The fried-chicken sandwich juggernaut has opened a Daly City location at Serramonte Center, on Callan Boulevard outside of the shopping mall, with drive-thru service from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Franchise owner/operator Susanna Choe plans to employ up to 130 full-timers and part-timers.

The eastern Contra Costa location is in Pittsburg, at Auto Center Drive and Highway 4, with the same hours, drive-thru service — plus a carryout option. This franchise owner/operator, Mark Brugh, also intends to hire about 130 staffers.

Both locations will open their dining rooms to sit-down meals at some point in the future..

Since 2019, Chick-fil-A has served antibiotic-free chicken in all of its U.S. locations.

That year the chain also released a new charitable giving policy that focuses on contributions to nonprofits that work with children the areas of education, homelessness and hunger. For each of these new restaurant openings, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America, with the funds being distributed in the Bay Area.
