OAKLAND — A woman and a man were found shot to death early Thursday morning in an Uptown district high-rise residential complex, authorities said.
Police have not released of the names of the 23-year-old woman and 44-year-old man who were killed and have not yet said how they knew each other.
The bodies were discovered about 12:10 a.m. in the woman’s 33rd floor apartment at the high-rise at 447 17th Street which is at the corner of Broadway. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are trying to determine a motive for the killings and have not announced any arrests.The killings are the 121st and 122nd homicides investigated by the Oakland Police Department this year. The CHP has investigated an additional four homicides on freeways in the city.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $20,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
