Packed with the latest technology and customisation galore, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition typifies the brand’s approach to doing PCs differently.
It wasn’t even IFA 2024 that saw the launch of Lenovo’s new computers – the prominent PC maker instead held its own neighbouring event called “Lenovo Innovation World 2024” for the occasion. For everyday PC users, the company revealed several devices with a foot in each camp, encompassing Intel, AMD, and Snapdragon’s newest chips. It also teased some cool concepts like a PC with an auto-rotating display.
Accompanying the fresh laptops is a branded on-device take on generative AI, referred to as “Lenovo Creator Zone”. First shown at CES 2024, it’s an image generation app based on a Stable Diffusion 3.0 model exclusive to Lenovo. Via text-to-image or sketch-to-image prompts, the software then produces various images to choose from and then edit further. It’s coming to devices with discrete GPUs at first, with wider support coming later.
Packed with aura
Headlining the new range is the 15-inch Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, based on the faster and more power-efficient Series 2 Intel Core Ultra chipset. It comes with up to 32GB of speedy 8533MHz RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and a 70Wh battery.
So, what makes it the “Aura Edition”? According to Lenovo, PCs with the Aura moniker benefit from a range of Smart Modes that optimises settings for different tasks. For example, Attention Mode blocks out distractions to help you stay on task, while Shield Mode protects your privacy when working with sensitive data.
It’s also designed to help keep you on top of your health. Wellness features baked into the laptop include regular reminders to check your posture and take breaks to reduce eye fatigue.
Lenovo takes a platform-agnostic approach to media sharing too. Its Smart Share technology lets you quickly send images between laptops and phones, across both Android and iOS platforms.
