Amaysim has launched its new NBN internet plans in Australia, following the telco’s announcement earlier in the year.
For existing Amaysim mobile customers, you can score an ongoing discount by bundling your SIM and NBN plans. One of many mobile virtual network operators (MVNO), Amaysim used the Optus network to provide its mobile services.
Up front, the newly launched Amaysim NBN plans aren’t quite the cheapest on the market compared to other telcos’ promotional offers. However, they’re competitively priced when placed next to other full-priced offerings, like Aussie Broadband’s budget Buddy Telco brand.
Its NBN plans start at $60 per month for the base 25Mbps download tier, with the most expensive option sitting at $100 for 240Mbps. As a tempter, Amaysim is offering a discounted rate for the first six months. Those with an existing phone plan with the telco retain the discount after the initial six-month period.
Plan | Evening speeds | Intro price (first six months) | Ongoing price | SIM plan bundle price |
---|---|---|---|---|
Quick As | Down: 25mbps Up: 8mbps |
$60/month | $70/month | $60/month |
Speedy As | Down: 50mbps Up: 18mbps |
$75/month | $85/month | $75/month |
Fast As | Down: 100mbps Up: 18mbps |
$80/month | $90/month | $80/month |
Superfast As | Down: 240mbps Up: 22mbps |
$90/month | $100/month | $90/month |
Like many NBN providers, Amaysim doesn’t lock you into a contract, leaving you free to shop around for the best deal. It also operates on a BYO modem system, so you can use your existing hardware.
How does Amaysim NBN compare to other telcos?
Using NBN 50 plans, Australia’s most popular speed tier, as a benchmark, Amaysim’s “Speedy As” product costs $75 each month for the first six months. Amaysim mobile customers keep paying $75 afterwards, otherwise, the price then goes up to a monthly $85.
You can get temporarily discounted NBN 50 plans for around $60 per month, making Amaysim’s internet a little pricier than some providers. $75 a month is fairly competitive once you take others’ discounts out of the equation, providing an incentive to pair a SIM and NBN plan together.
Available now, you can check out Amaysim’s NBN plans via the telco’s website. You can also compare cheap internet plans to find the best deal.
