BritBox boosts British streaming service with 3 new channels

British streamer BritBox has launched a big refresh in Australia, adding three new linear channels and hundreds of hours of new content.

In addition to on-demand access to shows like Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, and Shetland, the three new channels function like traditional broadcast TV, streaming content throughout the day on a schedule. It’s an old-school approach to discoverability, contrasted by the relatively new-age method attempted by Fetch TV and Prime Video.

Of these linear channels, BBC First airs prestige dramas like Beyond Paradise and The Bay, BBC Entertain shows a mix of comedy and light entertainment, while BBC Select runs documentaries from the likes of David Attenborough, Brian Cox, and Michael Mosley.

BritBox costs $13.99 per month in Australia or $139.99 as an annual subscription, making it one of the more affordable streamers locally.
