New Ecovacs window-cleaning robot is its cheapest yet

Ecovacs has launched its most affordable new robotic window cleaner, the Winbot W1S, in Australia.

Coming hot off the heels of Ecovacs commemorating a million Winbots sold around the world, the W1S comes in at $599 locally. That’s notably cheaper than the W1 Pro and W2 Pro Omni models already on the market.

Made to clean windows of various sizes without manual effort, the Winbot W1S uses a combination of sensors and sprays to get surfaces sparkling. Equipped with a microfibre cleaning pad, the robot sprays windows in two directions at the same time, which is said to be more efficient and better at cleaning.

One of the worst parts about cleaning windows yourself is how easy it is to miss spots. Particularly high-up places; anyone who says they enjoy cleaning is either lying or one heck of an outlier.

Ecovacs’ solution for this is a robot that automatically detects the surface areas of windows to then optimise its cleaning path. Depending on how dirty your windows are, the Winbot W1S has a quick mode, a deep cleaning mode, and a spot cleaning mode to give you direct control.

For this latter cleaning mode, Ecovacs’ latest window cleaner comes with a new remote that supports 360-degree movement, in addition to control via the Ecovacs app. If you happen to have windows or glass without defined edges, like some shower doors, Ecovacs says the Winbot W1S has a built-in detection function that prevents the robot from falling off.

From now until 14 July, the Ecovacs Winbot W1S sells at a cheaper $479 price before it goes back up to its full $599 RRP. You can take a look via Amazon or the online Ecovacs store.
