Panasonic’s new blender even cooks and cleans for you

Increasingly more home appliance brands want to make the ultimate all-in-one device. A gadget that slices, dices, cooks and cleans for you. That’s certainly the goal of the newly launched Panasonic MX-HG6401 blender, a kitchen utensil that aims to do it all.

According to Panasonic, the MX-HG6401 not only blends but also cooks food and cleans itself afterwards. If it lives up to such lofty claims, the $329 blender could make your smoothies, soups, and sauces without much in the way of manual effort. That sounds like my kind of gadget.

The kitchen appliance includes various customisable settings depending on what you’re cooking. Temperature control is one of them, supporting between 40°C to 100°C for both hot and cold recipes. Panasonic’s blender also lets you program timers, including up to a 12-hour delay plus a keep warm setting to have something ready by the time you finish work.

Once it’s done, the MX-HG6401 cleans itself at the press of a button. It uses 70°C as part of a wash cycle, taking care of one of the worst parts of using a kitchen appliance: cleaning.

As explained by Ginger Yu, Panasonic Australia’s Product Marketing Manager of Small Appliances, the blender can cut back on time and effort.

“Cooking with pots, pans and utensils can be a lot of work,” Yu said via a press release. “Now you can reduce the effort by just placing ingredients in the jug, and selecting your preferred setting to cut, heat and blend all at once.”

As someone who has long wanted to experiment with soups and smoothies, Panasonic’s new blender sure is appealing. If it sounds like your sort of thing, the Panasonic MX-HG6401 is now arriving in Australian retailers.
