Ice cream boutique Salt & Straw has rolled out a menu of five Thanksgiving flavors including turkey with cranberry sauce.
The West Coast (plus Miami) chain will offer scoops and pints of the seasonal flavors all month, alongside 10 “classic” flavors.
The Thanksgiving lineup:
- Caramelized Turkey & Cranberry Sauce: Turkey bacon brittle with thyme and pepper, plus cranberry sauce.
- Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream: Just like it sounds — pieces of buttery bread roll churned into a salted base.
- Sweet Potato Pie With Double-Baked Almond Streusel
- Candied Walnut Cheesecake
- Pumpkin & Gingersnap Pie (vegan)
In the Bay Area, the chain has stores in San Francisco, Burlingame, Palo Alto, Westfield Valley Fair mall and San Ramon. Pints are $13 each and can also be bought at the Salt & Straw website.
And the granddaddy of weird Thanksgiving flavors, Jones Soda’s Turkey and Gravy, will be returning. The limited edition of 35,000 bottles will go on sale Monday, Nov. 15.
The flavor, first sold in 2003, had been on a decade-long hiatus before Jones announced this year it would be brought back “for a whole generation … that’s never tried it.”
In the Bay Area, Jones Sodas are sold at Cost Plus World Market and dozens of independent stores.
