A Daly City woman was fatally shot in her home, with her 4-year-old child in the next room, prosecutors say.
Her estranged husband is accused of the murder.
The shooting occurred Saturday night at the Belmar Avenue apartment where Lillim Orozcozelaya, 26, lived with her young child and a roommate.
Her husband, Eriberto Beltran Arenas, 36, came to the home to confront her, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
The roommate took the child into another room, and minutes later Orozcozelaya was shot twice.
Beltran Arenas allegedly called several family members, including the victim’s mother, to say he had killed her.
He was arrested a short time later by San Francisco police.
The suspect made his initial appearance in San Mateo County Superior Court on Tuesday but did not enter a plea. He is being held on $11 million bail and is set to return to court on Nov. 18.The district attorney’s office says he has 18 firearms registered in his name.
