Motorola is back with another foldable, this time the Razr 60, adding another option alongside the simultaneously announced Edge 60 Pro.
For now, it’s just the base Motorola Razr 60 coming to Australia. Last year, the company led with the higher-spec Razr 50 Ultra model, followed by the standard Razr 50 towards the back-end of 2024.
As far as what’s changed between the Razr 50 and the Razr 60, it largely comes down to improved durability and longevity. This year’s flip phone from Motorola has a slightly larger 4,500mAh battery (up from 4,200mAh), so it should last longer between charges.
But the most substantial change is physical. Motorola says the Razr 60 uses a new titanium-reinforced hinge that reportedly lasts 35% more folds than last year’s model. This hinge upgrade also resulted in a smaller gap when folded, meaning the phone now has an IP48 protection rating against dust and water.

Other than the improved design, the screens are the same size and resolution; a 3.6-inch outer pOLED screen, with a 6.9-inch main pOLED display when unfolded. The Razr 60 again includes a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide and macro sensor, and a 32MP selfie lens. Although technically, any camera on a flip phone makes for an easy selfie shooter.
There’s a slight improvement on the inside, with Motorola opting to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset, an upgraded version of the processor used in last year’s base Razr. 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage carry over to this year’s model.
Available in Pantone Gibraltar Sea and Pantone Parfait Pink colours, the Motorola Razr costs $1,199 in Australia, the same price as the Edge 60 Pro. It’s out on 10 July exclusively through JB Hi-Fi, with pre-orders starting on 3 July.
Motorola timed its run well, considering Samsung is set to announce its foldables in the coming days. So, get ready for another battle of the flips.
