As expected from last night’s Pokémon Presents livestream, Pokémon Legends: Z-A got a new trailer with an extended look at its gameplay. But it also received confirmation of a new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle.
Like the Mario Kart World launch bundle, the Pokémon Legends: Z-A bundle includes the Nintendo Switch 2 console with a code to redeem a digital copy of the upcoming game. Unfortunately, there’s no fancy design; it’s only the vanilla grey version of the console. Anyone waiting for a fresh colourway before taking the plunge has to wait a bit longer.
EB Games has a pre-order listing live now, pricing the bundle at $769.95 in Australia. It works out to save roughly $40 versus buying a Switch 2 ($699) and the new Pokémon game separately ($109.95). Nintendo’s pricing strategy has been a hot topic since the console’s June launch, with some games approaching $120 at retail.
As previously confirmed, Pokémon Legends: Z-A comes out on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 October. The newly announced console bundle launches on the same day, providing an upgrade pathway for those waiting for the latest Pokémon entry before getting the latest hardware.
Also included in the Pokémon Presents livestream was a trailer showing Legends: Z-A in action. It follows a group called “Team MZ”, who work together to protect the peace of Lumiose City, a major residential hub that previously appeared in the Pokémon X and Y games on the Nintendo 3DS.
One of the biggest sources of conflict comes from wild Pokémon that Mega Evolve without trainer intervention, causing chaos around them. A lot of people are talking about the new Mega Dragonite form, which includes aspects of its pre-evolved form, Dragonair.
