Roborock has launched its slimmest robot vacuum in Australia, the Saros 10R, designed to squeeze into tight spaces robots usually struggle with.
The low-profile design measures 7.98cm tall, making the Saros 10R a short king among robot cleaners. Underneath its compact chassis is 19,000Pa of suction power, making it one of the more powerful robots on the market.
Like an increasing number of top-level robot cleaners, the Saros 10R automatically lifts up over thicker carpets and rugs. It also comes with an all-in-one docking station that charges the robot, and cleans its mops using 80°C hot water.
All of these premium features come at a high price, however. In Australia, the Roborock Saros 10R costs $2,899, among the priciest models available locally. The same applied to Roborock’s S8 MaxV Ultra model last year, although it earned plaudits for being one of the best robot cleaners money could buy.
One of the clever smart features this time around is mop removal. When the Saros 10R enters the docking station, it automatically removes the mops when embarking on a vacuum-only run. As nice as the auto-lift feature is, removing the mops entirely is a good idea to help prevent accidental moisture on carpets, something even the biggest robot brands are occasionally guilty of.
Its short stature lends itself to sliding underneath beds, couches, and furniture that sits low to the ground. Roborock claims its latest vacuum also navigates around obstacles smarter, too. It does this using a vertical laser, which the company says helps prevent accidental bumping into obstacles while cleaning hard-to-reach areas more thoroughly.
Based on the specs and Roborock’s claims, the Saros 10R suits homes with carpets and hard floors that could benefit from a thorough cleaning, particularly places with pets. It’s out now in Australia from Roborock’s online store and Amazon.
