Pokémon Legends: Z-A gets October release date, Switch 2 boost

Pokémon Legends: Z-A has a confirmed release date of 16 October this year, The Pokémon Company has announced. Originally announced in February 2024, the upcoming Pokémon game will launch on the original Nintendo Switch, while also getting an enhanced version for the Nintendo Switch 2.

According to the official announcement, the Switch 2 version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A will benefit from “improved graphics and frame rates” compared to the previous-gen version. On top of the release date confirmation, a Pokémon Presents stream will air via YouTube on 22 July, including more information about future news.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A adds another twist to the long-running series’ formula. Instead of the traditional turn-based battles, encounters take place in real-time in a semi-open-world structure similar to Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
